The Spanish club Barcelona announced, in a new official statement, the success of the surgery that its player Fermin Lopez underwent, after the injury he suffered during the Real Betis match in the Spanish League.

Barcelona beat Real Betis 3-1, in the thirty-seventh round of La Liga, in a match that saw Lopez suffer a fracture in his metatarsal.
The club explained yesterday, Monday, that the player suffers from a broken metatarsal, which means he will miss the World Cup.
Barcelona said in its new statement that Fermin Lopez underwent a successful surgery to treat a fracture in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot, at Barcelona Hospital, under the supervision of Dr. Anthony Dalmau-Cole, and under the guidance of the club’s medical services.
The Catalan club added that the player’s recovery period will be determined according to the development of his condition.
