Today, southern Lebanon entered one of the most violent waves of escalation in weeks, with the scope of the Israeli raids expanding to include several towns in the south and Nabatieh, amid a rapid rise in the number of martyrs and wounded, in conjunction with Israeli warnings and an unprecedented air and field escalation.
In field developments, the “Lebanon Debate” correspondent reported that the Israeli raid on the town of Harouf targeted a center for the Islamic Health Authority, which, according to preliminary information, led to the death of 5 paramedics and the injury of others.
The blood toll in Harouf was distributed in successive stages. At midnight, 4 people were martyred and a number of wounded were recorded, before rising at three o’clock in the afternoon to 3 martyrs and 5 wounded. Then the toll of the last raid on the health authority center was added, bringing the total number in the town to 12 martyrs and 11 wounded.
The Israeli raids also targeted several towns, including Ayta al-Jabal, where information reported the martyrdom of two people, in addition to raids on Arab al-Jal, Arabsalim, Dibal, Farun, al-Ghandouriya, al-Kharayeb, and Wadi Kafra in the town of Jbaa, where an unexploded rocket fell.
In Tire District, the Ministry of Health announced that the Israeli raids resulted in an indefinite toll of 37 wounded, including children, women, and members of the medical staff at Hiram Hospital.
The Ministry also announced that the total toll of the Israeli aggression since March 2 had risen to 2,951 martyrs and 8,988 wounded.
This escalation comes amid a field day full of military developments, after Hezbollah announced the implementation of a series of operations targeting Merkava tanks and Israeli concentrations and vehicles in Rashaf, Al-Khiyam, Deir Saryan, Al-Quzah, and Al-Bayyada, using attack helicopters, artillery shells, and rocket launchers. It also announced that it confronted an Israeli helicopter with a surface-to-air missile.
On the other hand, the Israeli army announced the interception of air targets launched from Lebanon towards northern Israel, confirming that it had attacked hundreds of targets in southern Lebanon during the last week, and published scenes that it said documented the targeting of infrastructure, warehouses, and drone platforms belonging to Hezbollah.
The field escalation coincided with the continuation of Israeli warnings to the southern villages, while international contacts and ongoing negotiations continued in Washington to discuss establishing a ceasefire, amid Lebanese skepticism about the possibility of Israel committing to any permanent truce in light of the continuation of daily raids and attacks.
