The Druze are at the heart of Islam

Kamil Al-Rayes

To everyone who has appointed himself as arbiter of the consciences of his people, and to every skeptic or infidel who tries to undermine the authenticity of the Druze monotheist sect; We place before you the final word that does not accept interpretation, based on religious and historical facts:
First: Doctrine and privacy (red line)
We are the Druze monotheist sect, a sect of Islam, firmly rooted in the faith, rooted in the origin of monotheism. We have our own privacy, our rituals, and our ways of obedience and worship. These ways may differ in their forms from the rest of the Islamic sects and sects, but they agree with them in the essence of faith. For us, this matter is an absolute truth that does not accept discussion or questioning, and we have no intention of justifying or changing our rituals to satisfy any exclusionary thought.
The constant and certainty that refutes all the anomalous and contradictory fatwas is the recognition of the nation’s senior authorities of the soundness of our belief. Whoever accepts us as we are, in particular, has all our affection and appreciation, and whoever refuses, that is his business alone until the dust of ignorance is removed from him with the certainty of knowledge.
Second: History testimony and meeting with adults (1994 station)
Imam Shaltut’s fatwa was not just ink on paper, but rather was enshrined in action and practice in the corridors of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif. In the year 1959 AD, Sheikh Mahmoud Shaltout took a major convergence step, as he issued an official fatwa stating that:
“The Druze are Muslims, and they are a group of Muslims, and it is permissible to worship according to their sect, just like other Islamic sects.”
We recall here the historic visit in 1994 AD, when a delegation of Almohad sheikhs (which included nineteen sheikhs of senior officials and educators from the Chouf, Aley, Hasbaya, Rashaya, and Matn) were guests at Al-Azhar for more than a month.
In those blessed meetings that brought them together with the Grand Imam Sheikh Jad Al-Haqq Ali Jad Al-Haqq, the scholar Sheikh Ahmed Rajab, the scholar Sheikh Muhammad Metwally Al-Shaarawi, and an elite group of the nation’s scholars, the truth was clearly revealed:
* Al-Azhar scholars were astonished by the extent of the monotheists’ adherence to the essence of their Islam and the purity of their monotheism.
* Sheikh Ahmed Rajab’s reference to these sheikhs was engraved in the memory when he said with the spontaneity of a fair scholar: “These are those who are almost prophets,” as an expression of their piety and piety.
* His Eminence expressed his deep regret for the insults and distortions directed at the Almohads, concluding by saying that “the Druze Almohads are at the forefront of Islam.”
In conclusion, today we are not begging for recognition from anyone, but rather we are confirming an existing reality. Whoever wants, let him believe in the beauty of diversity, and whoever wants, let him adhere to the isolation of takfir. As for us, we remain in the covenant of monotheism, clinging to our Islam and our privacy, under the banner of truth that never disappears. The word of the spiritual authority of the sect, Sheikh Abu Yusuf Amin Al-Sayegh – in which he enshrined the clear truth that does not accept doubt – remains a document and custom from which we proceed to face the coming stages with all firmness, faith and certainty.
