Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James achieved a new historic achievement in the NBA, after becoming the fourth player in the history of the competition to reach 12,000 assists during his professional career.
This achievement was achieved during his team’s match against the Phoenix Suns, where James provided his 12,000th assist in the first quarter. The pass came after a defensive rebound, as James sent a long pass to Deandre Ayton, who scored with 7 minutes and 49 seconds left in the period.
James is only the fourth player to achieve this record in the history of the league, after John Stockton (15,806 assists), Chris Paul (12,552 assists), and Jason Kidd (12,091 assists).
James finished the game with 12 assists and 28 points, which led his Los Angeles Lakers to a huge victory over the Phoenix Suns with a score of 101-73, thus raising his total tally of assists to 12,010.
Although James is 41 years old, he continues to perform at exceptional levels this season with an average of 7.1 assists per game, which increases his chances of advancing to the list of the best playmakers in the history of the league.
