The Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Ahmed Al-Hajjar, continues his field monitoring of the ongoing rescue operations in Beirut following the Israeli attacks that targeted some residential neighborhoods. This is done in direct coordination with the Governor of Beirut, Judge Marwan Abboud, and in the presence of Captain Michel Murr of the Beirut Fire Brigade.
Al-Hajjar inspected the progress of work in the affected areas, praised the great efforts made by the firefighters in helping the people, and stressed the importance of continuing to work with the highest levels of preparedness and rapid response, given the continuing potential dangers.
In this regard, a reporter reported that the Beirut Fire Brigade had succeeded in rescuing two people from inside a damaged building in the “Tallat al-Khayyat” area, in an operation described as very precise, while search operations continued to ensure that there were no other people trapped under the rubble.
This official follow-up comes in light of the escalation in the frequency of raids that targeted Beirut and other areas, which led to casualties and injuries, in addition to significant material damage to residential buildings. The city is witnessing a state of maximum alert for emergency, ambulance and civil defense teams, in an attempt to rescue the trapped people and ensure the safety of the population, with renewed calls not to gather around the targeted areas to facilitate the work of the rescue teams.
