The Brazilian club Sao Paulo announced the end of the football career of midfielder Oscar, the former Chelsea star, at the age of 34, due to heart health problems that prevent him from continuing to play football.
This decision came after the former Brazilian international player underwent careful medical examinations that revealed that he was suffering from a “vasovagal attack,” which is a health condition that leads to a sharp and sudden drop in the heart rate and blood pressure level, after “Oscar” spent five days in the hospital last November as a result of heart complications.
In light of these health developments, the club and the player agreed to terminate the contract, which was scheduled to last until 2027. “Oscar” expressed his sadness at not being able to complete his career, saying: “I had hoped to provide more for Sao Paulo, and I wanted to play for a longer period, but unfortunately that was not possible.” Oscar added that he will conclude his career at the club where he started, heralding the beginning of a new chapter in his life in which he will support the team from his new position.
It should be noted that “Oscar” has a football career full of achievements, as he won the English Premier League title twice with Chelsea, in addition to winning the Chinese Super League title three times with Shanghai Port, ending a professional era that led him to podiums around the world.
