In light of the increasing pressures imposed by the Syrian displacement file on Lebanon, and with the escalation of security and social problems in many areas, incidents of violence are recurring, worrying the population and placing the security services with an additional burden to follow up on their results, which reflects the fragile security situation in some densely populated areas.
In this context, the town of Jeb Jenin witnessed a horrific incident, where a car was found parked in front of Farhat Hospital, inside which was a person suffering from serious stab wounds, especially in the neck, in addition to other injuries in different areas of his body, and his condition was described as very critical.
The scene that appeared in front of the hospital caused great shock, and the injured person was quickly transferred inside, while his condition was very serious, with little chance of survival.
According to available data, preliminary investigations initiated by the security services revealed that the incident arose due to a dispute between displaced Syrians in the town, which suddenly developed into a stabbing attack, due to what is believed to be a dispute related to an “honor killing.”
Information reported that the suspect stabbed the victim because of his suspicions about the existence of a relationship between the victim and his wife, which led to a rapid escalation of events that ended in an attempted murder.
Immediately, the security forces moved and carried out a raid on the suspect’s house in Jeb Jenin, while investigations are still ongoing to reveal all the details of the incident and determine responsibilities.
