The “WhatsApp” application is currently developing a new feature in the Android version, which aims to enable users to see a list of online contacts quickly and easily, without the need to enter each conversation individually.
This feature is still in the beta testing phase, and it is expected that it will be officially released in a later update after the necessary tests are completed.
Currently, it requires users to open each conversation to see if a person is online or not, which is tedious and time-consuming especially when there are a large number of conversations.
Thanks to this new feature, a dedicated section will appear within the app displaying a list of currently connected contacts, allowing conversations to start with available people faster. Reports indicate that users will be able to sort the list by name or online status.
It is worth noting that the list may also display contacts that are not yet saved in the phonebook but have been contacted via groups, making it easier to add them later.
Convenience and privacy: Beta versions show that the new feature places a high priority on users’ privacy. For example, contacts that have hidden their “Last Seen” status will not appear in the list unless they are currently online.
Users who have completely disabled online status will not appear in the list even if they are online.
This aims to achieve a balance between ease of use and protecting users’ privacy rights.
Release date: According to the beta version tested, the feature is expected to appear in the Settings section or in a designated place within the application.
But its location may be changed before the official launch. It is also not currently available to all beta users, as work is still underway to improve the way active contacts are displayed.
It is expected that the feature will be launched gradually in future versions of “WhatsApp” on the Android system, and its scope may be expanded to include other systems such as the “iOS” system later.
Improving user experience: This feature is an important step towards simplifying the experience for users who communicate with a large number of people daily, especially those who manage large groups or interact with multiple contacts.
Instead of having to open each conversation to see if a person is available, users will be able to see their connection status in one place, making conversations more efficient and smooth. (Erm News)
