Doubts are rising about Cole Palmer’s future with Chelsea, after news spread of his increasing dissatisfaction with his current situation in the team and his desire to consider a new experience during the upcoming summer transfer period.
Although the English player has proven himself over the past two and a half seasons as one of the most prominent strikers in Europe, and contributed to Chelsea winning the Conference League championship and the Club World Cup, the deterioration of the team’s results in the recent period has greatly affected the atmosphere inside “Stamford Bridge.”
Under the leadership of Liam Rosenior, Chelsea is going through a difficult phase, as the team suffered four consecutive defeats in various competitions before the international break, including a harsh defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, in addition to two losses in the league against Newcastle and Everton without scoring any goals.
Palmer participated in these matches, but he was unable to provide an impressive performance, and the team’s decline to sixth place increased the amount of pressure, with the gap widening in the Champions League qualifying positions.
According to a report published by The Sun newspaper, Palmer is frustrated by the tactical changes that have reduced the space available to him for movement, and he has not hidden his dissatisfaction with the departure of Nicholas Jackson. The report also indicated that there is a tendency for the player to look for other options outside Chelsea.
In this context, the name of Manchester United was circulated as a possible destination, in addition to Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, noting that the player does not mind the idea of returning to Manchester, but this step seems difficult due to Chelsea’s adherence to him.
Palmer’s contract with the London club extends until the summer of 2033, and reports indicate that the management does not intend to sell him except for a huge sum that may reach 150 million pounds sterling.
It is noteworthy that since his move from Manchester City to Chelsea in 2023 for more than 40 million pounds, Palmer has scored 53 goals and provided 32 assists in 122 matches, including 10 goals in 25 matches this season.
