Sinner qualifies for the Miami semi-finals after crushing Tiafoe

Italian Jannik Siner, ranked second in the world, was able to reach the semi-finals of the Miami Tennis Championship after his great victory over American Frances Tiafoe, 6-2, 6-2, on Thursday.

Sinner did not face any difficulties in defeating his opponent at Hard Rock Stadium, as he won the first set in just 31 minutes, then dominated the second set, concluding the match in an hour and 11 minutes. With this victory, the Italian extended his streak of consecutive victories in the “Masters” tournaments to 30 matches without losing a set since last October.

In the semi-finals, Sinner will face the winner of the match between German Alexander Zverev, seeded fourth, and Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, while the other semi-final will witness a confrontation between Frenchman Artur Wiess and Czech Jiri Lehicka.

Sinner, who won the 2024 Miami Championship title and recently won the 1,000-point Indian Wells Masters title, aspires to achieve the American “Sunshine Double,” an achievement that no man has achieved since the Swiss Roger Federer in 2017.
