A state of fear and confusion prevailed in the Khandaq Al-Ghamiq area in central Beirut, following an unexpected incident that raised concerns about security threats, in light of the current circumstances and the war affecting Lebanon.
Returning to the details of the incident, the information indicates that a Honda car was parked under one of the buildings in the area, before a person suddenly got out of it and fled on foot, which sparked terror in the street, especially after loud sounds were heard and damage to the car’s windows appeared, which led some to believe that an attack had occurred in the area.
Immediately, security forces arrived at the site and cordoned off the area and prevented anyone from approaching it, amid a state of waiting and anxiety among the residents, especially with the spread of incorrect information about the possibility of an attack.
However, field sources confirmed that the incident was no more than an isolated incident resulting from the explosion of the airbags inside the car, and that no security action or targeting had been recorded, stressing the importance of being accurate and not being led by rumors that may increase the scale of events and spread panic among citizens.
The concerned authorities began investigations to find out the details of the incident, while the situation returned to normal in the region.
