Explicit Spanish accusation: Netanyahu seeks to repeat "Gaza scenario" In Lebanon

Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, expressed strong positions regarding developments in the war in the Middle East, criticized the policies of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and warned of the expansion of the scope of the conflict.

Sanchez stated that Netanyahu “wants to inflict the same devastation on Lebanon that he inflicted on Gaza,” considering that the current events portend further humanitarian deterioration and destabilization in the region.

He added, “We cannot demand the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Greenland and then remain silent regarding the violation of the sovereignty of Palestine and Lebanon,” pointing to what he considered to be duplication in dealing with international crises.

Sanchez also stressed the importance of “stopping the war in Iran,” explaining that “it is not fair to ignite a crisis while we are the ones paying the price,” referring to the economic and political consequences of the conflict.

In the context of his warnings, Sanchez described the ongoing war in the Middle East as “much worse” than the invasion of Iraq, in a comparison that reflects the extent of European countries’ concern about the region sliding into a broader confrontation.

The Spanish Prime Minister’s statements come in light of the escalation of military tensions and the expansion of the circle of clashes, amid global warnings of humanitarian and security repercussions that may extend beyond the borders of the region.
