Israeli media reported on Sunday that seven soldiers were injured in several incidents in southern Lebanon. In a related context, the Walla website reported that 48 soldiers had been injured since the beginning of the ground operation in the region. This coincided with the Israeli Home Front announcing that it had monitored the launch of rockets towards northern Israel, in light of a continuing escalation on the southern front.
As part of a series of successive statements, Hezbollah announced, in the context of what it called the “battle of the devastating storm,” that its fighters had targeted gatherings of Israeli army soldiers and vehicles on various axes. At 10:30 a.m., a gathering in Jal al-Hamar, south of Al-Adisa, was targeted with a barrage of missiles, in addition to launching an air attack with a swarm of attack drones on an Israeli force advancing towards Khallet al-Bustan, southeast of Maroun al-Ras, which led to confirmed casualties.
At 12:30, party fighters carried out attacks against gatherings in the Al-Taybeh project for the third time and the Al-Marj site opposite the Basaliyat missile complex, before a gathering in Khiam City was targeted at 13:10. Later, at 16:30, a gathering was targeted on the Al-Suls Heights, west of Yaroun, and then at 19:50, a gathering east of the Khiam detention center was targeted. At 20:00, the missiles targeted gatherings in Tal Abu Madi in Dhahira, in addition to other gatherings in Dhahira and Marwahin at the same time, before a gathering of Israeli army vehicles and soldiers in Khallet al-Bustan in Maroun al-Ras was targeted with artillery shells at 20:40.
These operations show the expansion of the scope of targeting to include multiple axes extending from Al-Adaysah, Al-Khiyam, and Yaroun, all the way to Maroun Al-Ras, Al-Dhahira, and Marawahin, with continuous targeting throughout the day, from morning until evening.
This escalation comes in light of the continuing confrontations in southern Lebanon, with exchanges of raids and artillery shelling, amid anticipation of developments on the ground in the coming hours, and warnings of the danger of expanding the scope of the conflict.
