Spring is postponed... and this is what awaits us!

The Estimates Department at the Meteorological Department in the General Directorate of Civil Aviation expected that Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean basin will fall under the influence of a low air pressure accompanied by cold air masses and carrying with it heavy rain, snow, thunderstorms and active winds, and will continue until the beginning of next week.

Warning: of slippages on the roads due to rain and the formation of torrents on some roads starting this evening.

Expected weather in Lebanon:

Friday: Mostly cloudy with fog in the highlands and a further drop in temperatures below their seasonal averages. Scattered heavy rain falls at times and is accompanied by thunderstorms and active winds that sometimes intensify up to 80 km/h, with the sea waves rising. Snow falls reaching an altitude of 1,800 meters during the day and falling to 1,600 meters at night.

Saturday: Partly cloudy to cloudy with fog in the highlands and a further drop in temperatures below normal. Scattered rain falls, sometimes heavy and accompanied by lightning, thunder and active winds. Snow also touches an altitude of 1700 during the day and 1500 at night. Some relief is expected.
Sunday:
Cloudy to partly cloudy, with temperatures remaining below their seasonal rates. Scattered rain may fall at times with some snow at an altitude of 1,600 meters and above. Cooling off is expected.

Monday: Partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with a limited increase in daytime temperatures that remain below their seasonal averages. Scattered rain falls with some snow at an altitude of 1,700 meters and above during the morning. The rain and snow gradually subside from noon, with temperatures remaining cold. Therefore, we warn of the risk of ice forming on internal and mountain roads above 1,600 meters during the night and early morning hours.

Surface winds: active southwesterly, with speeds ranging between 20 and 45 km/h, sometimes intensifying to approach 80 km/h.
