
The official spokesman for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that France “is not a party to this war and will not participate in it,” stressing Paris’s firm position calling for reducing the escalation.
He also called for an end to attacks using drones and missiles in the region, demanding an end to targeting civilian facilities and international peacekeeping forces in Lebanon.
He explained that France, in coordination with Britain, Italy and Germany, had expressed its rejection of Israeli threats to expand the scope of military operations in Lebanon.
He also revealed that Paris has not yet received any response from the Israeli side regarding Lebanon’s initiative aimed at resuming negotiations.
He stressed that President Emmanuel Macron has expressed his willingness to play the role of mediator in the escalating conflict on the Lebanese border, noting that Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot has discussed with Lebanese officials the situation in the south, especially ceasefire violations.
