Speculation is increasing about the future of Marcus Thuram, the Inter Milan star, amid talk about his possible move to the Saudi Professional League.
Thuram is going through a difficult period with the Italian team, as he faces widespread criticism from Inter fans on social media platforms, due to the decline in his level and recent performance. Especially after the mistakes he made during the match against Atalanta last Saturday, which did not go unnoticed by the audience. Reports also indicated that he did not leave any mark in the last five Italian League matches, which displeased some fans.
Huge Saudi offer
Tuttosport newspaper reported that the 28-year-old player received a large offer from the Saudi League, and that some reports indicate that the initial details of the offer have already arrived in preparation for completing the deal. The newspaper added that Inter Milan’s management may be ready to negotiate, but Thuram’s current contract extends until June 30, 2028 and includes a penalty clause worth 85 million euros, which makes paying the full amount difficult for any club.
The Saudi League is expected to be the final possible destination for Thuram’s career, after the big offers he has received recently. His name was also linked to a move to the English Premier League, before he joined Inter Milan in the summer of 2023 on a free transfer from Borussia Mönchengladbach.
During his time with the team, Thuram played 131 matches in various tournaments, during which he scored 45 goals and provided 28 assists. (Arm News)
