The Israeli newspaper “Maariv”, in a report written by Avi Ashkenazi, stated that the Israeli army is closely monitoring the movement of trucks along the Lebanese coast. This is due to intelligence information indicating that Hezbollah is using civilian trucks to transport weapons and combat systems within the coastal areas of Lebanon.
Today, Saturday, the Israeli army spokesman in Arabic, Colonel Avichay Adraee, issued a public warning, in which he said that Hezbollah “is camouflaging combat means inside civilian trucks moving in coastal villages and cities.” He pointed out that these trucks are used to transport weapons that could be used in military operations against Israel, including targeting ships or naval targets.
Adraee explained that intelligence possessed by the Israeli army indicates that the party is transporting combat means inside civilian trucks along the Lebanese coast. He added that some of these means may be sea-land missiles or systems designed to target ships at sea.
In a direct warning to the residents of Lebanon, the military spokesman said that “every truck moving near the Lebanese coast may expose itself to danger,” accusing Hezbollah of integrating into the civilian environment and exploiting it to transport weapons, which exposes civilians to danger, according to the Israeli account.
The “Maariv” report indicates that the Israeli Navy received instructions to monitor closed trucks moving on the Lebanese coastal road, amid fears within the military establishment that they would be used to transport anti-ship missiles or combat means that could threaten maritime navigation or Israeli ships.
In the same context, the report explains that the Israeli Navy has been heavily involved in the ongoing military operations since the beginning of the confrontation with Hezbollah, as naval units operate off the Lebanese coast in offensive and defensive missions.
According to the data provided in the report, “Flotilla 3,” known as the missile boat squadron, participates in carrying out strikes on targets along the Lebanese coast and inside Lebanese territory, in conjunction with the mission of protecting Israeli naval facilities from the threat of missiles or potential naval attacks.
On the other hand, the report shows that the Israeli army continues to raise the level of military preparedness on the northern front, as the roads leading to the border with Lebanon witness intense movement of military convoys, including tank carriers, armored vehicles, and buses transporting soldiers to areas close to the border.
The report concludes by noting that this increasing military buildup in the Galilee, in addition to the continuation of air and sea strikes, reflects assessments within the Israeli military establishment that the confrontation with Hezbollah may be heading towards a broader phase in the coming days or weeks, in light of continued tension and escalation along the Lebanese front.
