During the night and until this morning, southern Lebanon witnessed a major military escalation. Israeli warplanes and marches carried out a series of violent raids targeting several towns in the Nabatieh and Bint Jbeil governorates, resulting in dozens of casualties, including martyrs and wounded, according to what a correspondent reported.
A reporter explained, based on field information, that the number of victims from yesterday until dawn today reached 55 martyrs, in addition to dozens of wounded as a result of the continuous Israeli bombing of southern villages and towns.
The correspondent stated that the raids that targeted multiple areas led to casualties in several towns, the most important of which were:
Nabatieh – Nuns neighbourhood: 7 martyrs
Al-Sawana town: 2 martyrs
Burj Qalawayh town: 12 martyrs
Bint Jbeil city: 3 martyrs
Many injuries were also recorded as a result of the bombing, while rescue operations and searches for missing persons continue under the rubble.
In the same context, Israeli warplanes launched four successive raids on the town of Toul. The raids also targeted the towns of:
Adshit
Nabatieh Fawqa
Zawtar East
Majdal Salam
disputant
Kfardonin
The bombing caused severe damage to homes and infrastructure in a number of these areas.
The bombing also cut off many main roads in the south as a result of damage to bridges and infrastructure, most notably:
Dibbin – Marjayoun Road
Al-Khardali Road – Marjayoun
Tirfalsiyya Bridge Road
Wadi Al-Hajir Bridge Road – Al-Qantara
In conjunction with the air strikes, the correspondent reported that Israeli artillery shelling continues with intensity, and is currently targeting the vicinity of the towns of Yahmar al-Shaqif and Arnoun in the Nabatieh district.
This escalation comes in light of the expansion of the scope of confrontations on the southern Lebanese front in recent days, as Israel intensified its air strikes and artillery shelling on border and interior towns in the south, in conjunction with ongoing Hezbollah operations targeting Israeli sites and bases in northern occupied Palestine.
Observers express their fear that the continuation of this military escalation will worsen the security and humanitarian situation in the southern regions, with the number of casualties rising and the circle of destruction expanding in the targeted villages and towns.
