The State of Qatar expressed its strong condemnation of the ongoing Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon, describing them as a clear violation of international law and Security Council Resolution No. 1701.
In a statement issued by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Doha on March 13, 2026, Qatar confirmed that these attacks on Lebanese territory are a flagrant violation of the rules of international humanitarian law.
The Ministry called on the international community to take action and assume its responsibilities to force Israel to stop these repeated attacks on Lebanon, and urged it to respect international treaties and laws.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs also affirmed the State of Qatar’s firm position in support of the Lebanese Republic, declaring its full support for Lebanon, its unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
It expressed its full support for all efforts aimed at enhancing stability in Lebanon and supporting the process of restoring security and prosperity.
This Qatari position comes in light of the unprecedented military escalation witnessed in Lebanese territories in recent days, with the continuation of Israeli raids on various areas of the country.
The Israeli strikes targeted the southern suburb of Beirut and neighborhoods in the capital, in addition to a series of raids on towns in southern Lebanon, in conjunction with Israeli warnings directed to residents to evacuate specific buildings and areas before being targeted.
The past few hours also witnessed Israeli military reinforcements on the Lebanese border, amid Israeli reports talking about the possibility of expanding military operations to reach a ground operation up to the Litani River.
For its part, Hezbollah announced that it had carried out a series of missile operations and attacks using drones targeting Israeli army sites and gatherings in the north, as part of a response to the raids that targeted Lebanese territory.
