Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa’ar, raised the intensity of his rhetoric towards Iran and Hezbollah, in statements in which he addressed the latest developments in the military escalation in the region. He described the Iranian regime as a “brutal regime,” and held Hezbollah responsible for expanding the scope of the confrontation with Israel.

Saar stressed that Iran is “a brutal regime that was involved in the killing of thousands of Iranians,” noting that regime change in Iran cannot come from the outside, but rather requires an internal revolution from the Iranian people themselves.

In a related context, the Israeli Foreign Minister addressed the situation on the Lebanese front, considering that Hezbollah “joined the war against the wishes of the Lebanese.”

He also pointed out that the number of missiles that Hezbollah fired at Israel recently exceeded, according to him, the number of missiles that Iran fired directly at Israel.

These statements come in light of the escalation of military operations in the region, as the southern borders of Lebanon are witnessing continuous mutual bombardment between Israel and Hezbollah, amid intense Israeli raids that targeted several towns in the south during the past few hours.

This escalation comes at a time when the regional confrontation is expanding, with the continued exchange of attacks between Israel and Iran, as the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced the launch of new phases of Operation “True Promise 4” with precision missiles targeting American and Israeli sites, coinciding with Tehran’s announcement of shooting down a number of drones.

In light of these successive developments, fears are increasing about the expansion of the circle of conflict in the region, with the continued exchange of strikes and military escalation on multiple fronts.
