Lawyer Hassan Adel Bazzi issued a statement on behalf of the Lebanese Ambassador to Algeria, Ali Al-Mawla, in which he indicated that on March 7, 2026, the MTV website published a report about his client, by name and title, and included suggestions of a connection between him and a Lebanese political party. The statement stressed that this matter may negatively affect Ambassador Ali Al-Mawla and harm his position and mission as Lebanon’s ambassador to a brotherly Arab country.
The statement continued by clarifying that, based on the request of Ambassador Ali Al-Mawla, and with an emphasis on the right of any employee to belong to political parties and associations, the ambassador is not a member of any political party and does not provide his support to any party in particular.
The statement considered that what was published represents a fabricated and tendentious act, the purpose of which is to cause harm and injury to the ambassador based on malevolent motives. The statement added that this act constitutes a violation of the required media and professional standards, in addition to violating the audiovisual media law, and amounts to fraud, slander, and causing moral and material damage.
The statement concluded by noting that all necessary legal measures will be taken to prosecute the MTV website, its owners and those responsible for it.
