In continuation of the initiative, which includes meetings with presidents and political figures, a high-level delegation from the Progressive Socialist Party and the “Democratic Meeting” bloc, led by Representative Taymour Jumblatt, arrived at the headquarters of Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in Ain al-Tineh, where a meeting took place between the two parties.

Representative Jumblatt was accompanied on this visit by a number of members of the Democratic Gathering: Marwan Hamadeh, Akram Chehayeb, Wael Abu Faour, Faisal Al-Sayegh, Bilal Abdullah, and Raji Al-Saad, in addition to the Secretary of the Gathering, MP Hadi Abu Al-Hassan.

The meeting was also attended by the Secretary General of the Progressive Socialist Party, Dhafer Nasser, along with the advisor to the party’s president, Hossam Harb.

During the meeting, Representative Jumblatt reviewed the most important axes on which his political initiative is based, focusing on three main points.

The first point is to consolidate national unity and work hard to neutralize Lebanon from the region’s conflicts, especially in light of the tense regional circumstances.

The second point is the necessity of addressing the issue of displacement in a constructive and responsible manner, taking into account the Lebanese national interest and the humanitarian dimension.

On the third point, Jumblatt stressed the pivotal role of the Lebanese Army and the necessity of supporting it, appreciating its efforts in carrying out its national duty despite the grave difficulties and challenges.
