Amid increasing tension in the region, Israeli Minister of Transportation Miri Regev announced that Israel will target Lebanese infrastructure, in a new threat directed at Lebanon.
In a related context, Iranian Armed Forces spokesman Abolfazl Shekarji warned of the consequences of any Israeli attack targeting Iranian diplomatic centers in Lebanon. He added that Israel has vowed to target the Iranian embassy in Lebanon, stressing that if Israel does so, Iran will respond by targeting all Israeli embassies around the world as permissible targets, stressing that this “will inevitably happen.”
These statements come in light of the unprecedented military escalation that the region has been witnessing for days, and the scope of clashes between Israel and the so-called Iranian axis has expanded in multiple places. This coincides with the continuation of Israeli raids on various Lebanese regions, especially in the south, the southern suburbs of Beirut, and the Bekaa, in addition to mutual military operations across the border.
In recent hours, Israel also announced the implementation of raids targeting sites inside Iran, as part of the escalating confrontation between the two parties, while international warnings continue about the expansion of the war in the region.
This latest tension also comes against the backdrop of reports of Israeli threats to target Iranian sites in Lebanon, including diplomatic headquarters or missions, which has sparked Iranian warnings of a widespread response that could target Israeli interests around the world.
