This morning, the Palace of Justice in Baabda witnessed strict security measures, following the spread of news about a potential threat to a building located near the palace, which necessitated taking urgent preventive measures.

In this context, Judge Mirna Beida, the first president of the Mount Lebanon Court of Appeal, issued urgent directives to evacuate the Palace of Justice immediately, as all judges and administrative staff were asked to leave the building quickly for their safety.

Information indicates that this decision came as a preventive measure due to the circulation of news about a potential security threat, pending the disclosure of the nature of the threat and the measures that the security forces will take in the vicinity of the Palace of Justice.

In the same context, Lebanese Minister of Justice Adel Nassar stated through his account on the “X” platform: “The evacuation of the Palace of Justice in Baabda is a precautionary measure in light of some concerns, and their validity or otherwise is being verified.”
