Elon Musk, owner of the “X” platform, reported that the platform has achieved the highest levels of usage ever, coinciding with the escalation in the intensity of military operations between the United States and Israel on the one hand, and Iran on the other hand.

Musk’s announcement came in response to a post published by Nikita Beer, head of product at X, in which he stated that the platform had witnessed “the biggest day in its history.” In his response, Musk confirmed that the volume of recorded usage is the highest since the platform was established, which reflects the tremendous increase in levels of interaction and viewing.

This unprecedented rise comes at a time when the Middle East is witnessing a dangerous military escalation, after US-Israeli air attacks targeted military and nuclear sites inside Iran on February 28 and March 1, 2026. Official Iranian media reported that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in a raid that targeted a leadership headquarters in Tehran, in addition to a number of senior military leaders.

On the other hand, Iran announced the launch of batches of ballistic missiles and drones towards Israel, while the Israeli army confirmed that hundreds of Iranian missile launchers had been destroyed. The Pentagon also announced the killing of three American soldiers during these operations, which is the first American casualties since the beginning of the escalation.

The “X” platform witnessed a huge influx of constantly updated content, including videos from bombing sites, military analyzes and official statements, as well as live discussions via the “Spaces” feature. Interaction data showed that the volume of usage exceeded the previous record recorded during the 2024 US presidential elections.
