Bahrain announced on Monday that a naval facility near “Mina Salman” had been subjected to an Iranian attack, which represents a new escalation affecting the Gulf states in the midst of the ongoing military confrontation in the region.

The Bahraini Ministry of Interior explained through its official account on the “X” platform that “the Iranian aggression is targeting one of the marine facilities near Salman Port,” and confirmed that the firefighting and civil defense teams are working to address the fire resulting from the attack.

In related news, the Bahrain News Agency reported that Bahraini air defenses succeeded in “destroying and shooting down 61 missiles and 34 Iranian drones since the start of the attack,” which reflects the scale of the attacks the Kingdom has been subjected to in recent hours.

On the political level, the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, received a phone call on Sunday from US President Donald Trump, during which he denounced the Iranian attack on Bahraini territory, affirming the United States’ support for Bahrain and standing by it.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Trump affirmed his country’s readiness to provide all forms of support necessary to protect the Kingdom’s sovereignty, security and stability.

The National Communications Center announced on Saturday that Bahrain had intercepted a number of missiles that were detected in its airspace, stressing that the air defense systems of the Bahrain Defense Force dealt with them with high efficiency.

The center added that the concerned authorities are constantly monitoring events to ensure the protection of the Kingdom’s airspace and the security and safety of citizens and residents, in light of the escalation of regional tensions.

This development comes at a time when the region is witnessing a major military escalation between the United States and “Israel” on the one hand, and Iran on the other hand, with the scope of attacks expanding to include multiple Gulf regions.
