Microsoft has released a new update for Windows 11, which includes improved functionality and better daily use experiences.

This update was well received by users after a series of releases that faced widespread criticism due to the focus on artificial intelligence features.

The new update focuses on enhancing the system’s performance and stability in daily use, especially when the device resumes operation from sleep mode, as the device now operates faster and more stable than before, which reduces delays and contributes to making the user experience smoother.

The improvements also include improvements to core system interfaces, such as the login screen, the Settings app, and the taskbar, making interaction with the system smoother and more responsive.

The update introduced a number of practical additions that most users may benefit from, most notably the built-in Internet speed test, where users can now perform a network speed test directly from the Internet network menu in the taskbar, whether the connection is via Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or mobile networks, which represents a useful tool to quickly and easily evaluate the quality of the connection.

Users who have cameras that support Pan-Tilt horizontal and vertical movement can also be updated and control the camera direction directly from within the Settings application.

The update also contains a new set of emojis, “Emoji 16.0,” and support for using “webp” images as desktop backgrounds, in addition to improvements in “File Explorer.”

In addition, the update included important functional improvements to the system, including opening a new “File Explorer” window easily, via keyboard or mouse shortcuts, improving the performance of “Windows Update” settings and accelerating their response.

Update availability:
The update is currently available as an optional preview version that can be installed by going to Settings, choosing “Windows Update,” clicking “Check for updates,” and then clicking “Download and install” when it appears.

If the user does not install it manually now, its contents will be automatically integrated into the monthly “Patch Tuesday” update scheduled to be released on March 10, 2026.
