With the successive developments in the region as a result of the escalating tensions between the United States and Iran with Israeli support, and the accompanying cessation of work in some institutions and schools in neighboring countries, questions have been raised within Lebanon about the possibility of closing schools tomorrow in anticipation of any unexpected security situation.
In this regard, sources from the Ministry of Education stated that schools in Lebanon will receive students as usual, stressing that “no official decision has been issued to close until now.”
The sources also indicated that “the issue of suspending lessons is not considered a purely educational decision that falls within the Ministry’s powers alone, but rather is related to the security assessment, and in light of it, the appropriate decision is taken in the Council of Ministers, and any exceptional measure of this kind is based on an official decision issued by it.”
