In light of the escalation of tension between the United States and “Tehran,” several countries have begun evacuating the families of diplomats and non-essential employees from some of their missions in the Middle East, or issuing official recommendations to their citizens to postpone travel to “Iran” and hasten their departure.

In this context, “Finland” stated that its Ministry of Foreign Affairs provided advice to its citizens to avoid traveling to “Iran,” and urged residents of “Yemen” and “Libya” to leave immediately, as part of updates to travel warnings.

As for “Australia”, it has asked the families of its diplomats in “Israel” and “Lebanon” to leave these two countries, citing the deteriorating security situation. It has also offered the option of voluntary departure to the families of its diplomats in the “UAE”, “Jordan” and “Qatar”, while maintaining its recommendation to its citizens in “Israel” and “Lebanon” to leave the country as long as commercial flights are available.

In the same context, Serbia appealed to its citizens in Iran to leave as soon as possible due to the escalation of tensions and the potential deterioration of the security situation, while the Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, announced the need to evacuate Polish citizens from Iran immediately.

For its part, the United States began withdrawing non-essential employees and their qualified family members from its embassy in Lebanon, in light of the current tensions with Iran.

“Sweden” also advised its citizens to avoid traveling to “Iran” and to leave immediately as of “January 12, 2026,” and its Foreign Minister later announced that those who choose to stay should not expect government assistance for their evacuation.

In the same context, India, through its embassy in Tehran, called on its citizens in Iran to leave the country using available means of transportation, including commercial flights.

Likewise, “Cyprus” advised its citizens to avoid traveling to “Iran” and to leave it immediately as of “January 13, 2026,” while “Singapore” called for continuing to postpone all trips to “Iran.”

As for Germany, it urged its citizens to leave Iran, indicating that commercial flights are still operating, and that departure by land is still possible.

Last week, Brazil recommended its citizens to leave Iran, after a similar warning it had issued in January to its citizens in Lebanon, renewing its advice against traveling to both countries.
