US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth from the state of Colorado stated that the US government has not yet set a time plan for publishing documents on unidentified flying objects (UAP) and so-called extraterrestrials, adding that these files are “not ready” at the present time.

In his answer to journalists’ inquiries about the expected date for the disclosure of these documents, Hegseth explained that he could not set a final date, and called for waiting for more details. He pointed out that he never expected to publish data of this kind during his term, pointing out that the US Department of Defense is currently working on preparing the documents in preparation for their publication.

The minister stressed that the announcement process will be organized and in multiple stages, stressing his ministry’s commitment to the directives of US President Donald Trump, while avoiding giving deadlines that may be impossible to meet.

Last week, Trump said that former US President Barack Obama disclosed secret information when he spoke about the existence of aliens, without clarifying whether he agreed with him. In an interview on February 14, Obama said that the universe is “so vast that the possibility of the existence of other life is high,” but at the same time he made clear that during his presidency he had not seen any evidence of alien contact with humans.

In a related context, Trump promised to publish government files related to “alien life” via the “Truth Social” platform, without specifying a specific date, which kept the presidential and popular debate ongoing about the transparency and content of these documents.
