A statement issued by MP Bilal Al-Hashimi came in clarification of what is being circulated in the media about his “inclusion in a supposed list” in the Zahle constituency, as he stressed that the publications fall within the scope of analyzes and conclusions that are not based on any announced official decision.
Al-Hashimi explained that any electoral alliances, if any, are subject to in-depth research within a clear political framework, and are announced in full transparency by the parties concerned, and do not depend on leaks or proactive media readings.
He stressed his rejection of the method that belittles voters, especially the Sunni voice in the central Bekaa, and treats them with the logic of “theft” or “transfer” between political forces, stressing that the people of the region exercise their democratic right freely, and that their choices stem from their national convictions and their desire to serve their region.
He pointed out the need to limit any political discussion related to the upcoming elections to its objective framework, and to avoid assumptions and predictions that might give the impression of facts that have not yet become clear.
At the conclusion of the statement, he stressed that the official statements were issued by him personally, and that any future political step would be announced clearly and in a timely manner.
