The Ansar Municipality issued a statement expressing its deep concern about the arrest of “Ahmed Mukhdar” by the security services, on suspicion of collaborating with Israel.
The municipality confirmed in its statement that it pays “deep concern” to this issue, especially in light of the heavy losses caused by the recent attacks, including the destruction of property and casualties, stressing its complete rejection of any form of dealing or contact with Israel under any pretext.
The municipality indicated that the accusations directed at the arrested person “represent no one but himself,” and do not in any way reflect the values and principles of the town’s residents, its families, and its national history, stressing that Ansar will remain committed to its principles and constants and will stand as an impenetrable barrier against any attempt to distort its image or belittle the sacrifices of its people.
The municipality also announced its full support for the families of the martyrs, expressing its deep solidarity with them in their ordeal, and demanding that the matter be left to the competent Lebanese judiciary, as it is the only body authorized to issue rulings and determine responsibilities in accordance with legal procedures.
The Ansar Municipality praised the statement issued by the family of the detainee, considering that the positions it contained reflect their strong concern for the reputation of the town and their rejection of any behavior that harms it.
At the conclusion of its statement, the municipality affirmed that the town will remain united with its people, keen on its security and stability, and preserving its national constants.
It is noteworthy that the “Mukhdar” family in the town of Ansar had previously issued a statement declaring its complete innocence of the so-called “Ahmed Mukhdar,” after what was attributed to him was proven as a result of investigations conducted by the competent security services, and the file was referred to the competent judiciary on charges of dealing with the “enemy.”
