In the midst of busy activity that included the fields of politics, economics and sports, Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam held a series of meetings, during which issues of sovereign, reform and development importance were addressed, in the context of preparing for future requirements at the internal and external levels.

In this context, it was reported that there was a meeting with President Salam, during which the aspirations of the Lebanese people were conveyed regarding setting a clear and specific timetable for the completion of the arms control plan, “All weapons north of the Litani River, in the hands of the Lebanese army,” in addition to discussing the upcoming parliamentary elections and the issue of voting for Lebanese residing abroad in embassies and consulates around the world.

On the other hand, the Prime Minister received the economic advisor to the Special Envoy of the President of the French Republic to Lebanon, “Jacques de la Gouge,” in the presence of the French Ambassador to Lebanon, “Herve Magro,” where they discussed the progress made in the process of economic reforms, especially the amendments to the bank restructuring law, financial policy and public spending, in addition to the draft law for financial restructuring and deposit recovery, with the aim of reaching an agreement with the International Monetary Fund, in line with what was stated in the government’s ministerial statement.

As part of the series of meetings, President Salam also received the President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, in the presence of the President of the Lebanese Football Association, Hashem Haidar, who stated that the discussions covered the grant provided by the International Federation to establish a football stadium with international standards, and the efforts made to find a suitable plot of land to implement this project.

These meetings come within the framework of a comprehensive vision adopted by the Prime Minister, combining sovereign issues, economic reforms, and constitutional entitlements, in addition to supporting development and sports projects.
