President Saad Hariri stressed the importance of adhering to the approach of moderation and putting Lebanon’s interests ahead of any personal or partisan accounts, stressing that serving the nation must be the ultimate goal in every public work.

Prime Minister Hariri’s statements came during his reception, this evening at “Beit Al-Wasat,” a large delegation of the youth of the Future Movement, in the presence of Mrs. Bahia Hariri, President of the “Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development,” where he listened to a presentation from them about their achievements during the past year at the student and organizational levels.

Hariri praised the efforts of the youth and congratulated them on what they had achieved, considering them Lebanon’s bright future, and called on them to deal with challenges in a positive spirit in order to overcome any difficulties they face. He also urged them to follow global developments, with a special focus on the artificial intelligence file, given its importance in facilitating the lives of citizens, improving the standard of living and health, and developing the economy.

In the context of his other meetings, Prime Minister Hariri received in the afternoon President Tammam Salam, in the presence of Counselor Hani Hammoud, where they discussed the general situation in the country and the latest political developments.

He also chaired a joint meeting of the Presidency of the Future Movement and the political and executive offices, and the meeting was devoted to discussing the general political situation and the movement’s internal affairs. Hariri announced to those gathered his decision to appoint Mrs. Bahia Hariri as Vice-President of the Movement.

As part of the ongoing meetings, Prime Minister Hariri received former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Elie Ferzli, who stated that there was no need to postpone the parliamentary elections, warning that there were attempts aimed at thwarting this entitlement and undermining the parliamentary democratic system.

Al-Ferzli stressed full commitment to the “Taif Agreement” in letter and spirit, calling for respecting constitutional deadlines and holding elections on the specified date, while emphasizing the principle of restricting weapons to the state and strengthening its sovereignty over all Lebanese territories.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Hariri received a phone call from the head of the Lebanese Phalange Party, Sami Gemayel, on the occasion of the anniversary of the assassination of martyr Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. During the call, the general situation and political developments in Lebanon were reviewed.

These political and organizational movements and meetings undertaken by Prime Minister Saad Hariri come at a time when the country is going through a sensitive phase, in which constitutional obligations, most notably the upcoming parliamentary elections, coincide with increasing political, security and economic challenges, which once again highlights the role of political forces in maintaining stability, respecting the democratic process, and giving priority to the interests of the state and institutions.
