Mr. Ali Fadlallah received a delegation from the “Al-Haraka family” on the southern coast of Matn, which included doctors, lawyers, and social, educational, cultural, elective, and women’s figures. They congratulated him on the occasion of the approaching month of Ramadan. The meeting discussed a number of issues of public interest, in addition to the latest developments in Lebanon and the region.
At the beginning of the meeting, lawyer “Riyad Al-Haraka” spoke, emphasizing the unitary and national role played by Mr. Ali Fadlallah in continuing the path of his father, the humanitarian authority Muhammad Hussein Fadlallah, while noting the strong relationship he had with him, and praising his thought that transcends sects, which calls for building a “state of man,” a “state of justice and equality.”
For his part, the scholar Fadlallah welcomed the delegation, which he described as including “a good elite of competencies,” expressing his appreciation for the relationship that links him with this family, and stressing that the responsibility placed on everyone requires following up on the open Islamic thought founded by the authority Fadlallah, which is based on building bridges and enhancing communication and convergence between different groups.
The scholar Fadlallah pointed out that dialogue represents the best way to resolve problems and differences, considering that “we have no choice in this country but to live together and improve the management of differences through calm and objective dialogue, instead of erecting barriers and barricades.” He called for focusing on common aspects, criticizing the method of exchanging accusations and inflammatory speeches, and raising controversial issues with the aim of mobilization, especially with the approaching parliamentary elections, where sectarian and sectarian slogans are used instead of civilizational competition based on programs and projects that can advance the nation and people.
The scholar Fadlallah stressed the importance of everyone returning to moral and human values to be the basis in all aspects of life, through establishing a “state of citizenship” that respects everyone, a state free of favoritism and sharing of interests, and of corruption and bribery.
He also clarified that the current events in the region and the world require strengthening internal unity and concerted efforts to protect Lebanon and face challenges, warning against relying on an outside world that only cares about its own interests, and expressing his regret for the inability to date to build a true homeland for all its people, in light of the continued dreams of division and federalism and the culture of exclusion and marginalization among some parties.
