Representative Saeed Al-Asmar announced through his account on the “X” platform his personal decision not to run in the upcoming parliamentary elections, explaining that this decision came “after calm and responsible thought, and a frank and understanding discussion with the head of the Lebanese Forces Party, Dr. Samir Geagea.”
Al-Asmar explained that this decision does not represent any retreat from his principles or a change in his political commitment, but rather it is an expression of his conviction that public service is not limited to a position or position, and that serving the cause in which he believes can take various forms and responsibilities over time.
He hinted that parliamentary work was one of several stages in his public career, in addition to previous responsibilities, all of which stemmed from a clear vision of the “Strong Republic” project, which is based on a sovereign state governed by institutions, in which the law prevails, and in which freedoms are preserved.
In an influential message to the people of Jezzine, Al-Asmar stressed that “Jezzine First” was never just a detail or a temporary political slogan, but rather a deep affiliation before any other consideration. He expressed his gratitude to the people of Jezzine District and to everyone who gave him their trust and support, considering that this trust is not just a number or a circumstance, but rather a responsibility that he carries with him wherever he goes, and it will continue to guide him in everything he does.
In conclusion, he stressed that his decision does not mean his withdrawal from public life or his distance from the political conflict, but rather it is a deliberate transition into a position of responsibility, within the same battle, and for the sake of Lebanon, which he believes in. He stressed that positions may change, but the choices are fixed, and that what he started with the people is a path of responsibility that does not end.
