Representative Ali Fayyad explained, during an interview with Al-Nour Radio, that a committee has been formed within Hezbollah that includes legal experts and members of Parliament, whose mission is to study problems that are used to put pressure on the resistance base, such as marking some properties, money transfers, and closing bank accounts in the Lebanese pound for a number of people. He pointed out that the committee reached important conclusions in this regard.
Fayyad praised the position of the Army Commander, General Rudolf Heikal, during his meeting with US Congressman Lindsey Graham in Washington, when he responded by saying: “Hezbollah is not a terrorist in the Lebanese context,” describing this position as “deserving of appreciation.”
In another policy-related context, Fayyad described the high-level meeting that brought together the Amal Movement and Hezbollah as “excellent,” and noted that Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri had informed the concerned parties that the elections would take place on the scheduled date.
Fayyad confirmed that Hezbollah will participate in the elections alongside the Amal Movement, stressing that “the old is the same,” and that electoral alliances will be carried out by consensus and with the highest levels of coordination and cooperation between the two sides.
He also drew attention to the importance of the meeting that brought together the President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, and the head of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, MP Mohamed Raad, considering that it had reopened channels of communication, stressing that what is required at the present time is to strengthen coordination and cooperation and bring opinions closer together, in a way that helps Lebanon achieve its goals.
