After Israeli army aircraft sprayed toxic pesticides over southern Lebanese territory, Agriculture Minister Nizar Hani stated that preliminary examinations revealed that the materials used were herbicides belonging to the “glyphosate” group, pointing out that the amount of spraying exceeded normal rates by between 30 and 50 times.

In the context of an exclusive interview with Al-Anbaa Electronic, Hani explained that these materials cause harmful effects on plants and the environment in general, and negatively affect soil and water, which leads to direct repercussions on human health.

He stressed that “the Israeli enemy is trying to create areas devoid of life and people,” warning that the effect of these pesticides continues for a long time, especially when they are used in such large quantities, as their effects may continue for many years to come.

Hani also explained that the length of the border areas that were sprayed is about 18 kilometers, while the width of the affected area ranges between 300 and 500 meters.
