A ceremony was held at the headquarters of the United Nations Temporary Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in Naqoura, the army’s receipt of 105 mechanisms as a gift from the UN force, in the presence of UNIFIL Commander Major General Dieu Dato Abanara, and the representative of the army commander, General Rodolf Heikal, Brigadier General Walid Abu Shaar, along with a number of officers.
During the ceremony, Brigadier Abu Shaar stressed in a speech in the name of the army commander that “continuous cooperation with UNIFIL enabled the military establishment to achieve a qualitative shift in the field of logistical support for units, which is reflected directly on its operational performance,” noting that the partnership in the field of training “contributed to raising the efficiency of the elements and providing them with basic skills.” For his part, Major General Abanara stressed the importance of the existing coordination Between the Lebanese army and UNIFIL in various security and development missions, noting that this gift falls within the framework of supporting the logistical capabilities of the army and facilitating the work of its units on the ground.
