Doha describes the Iranian strikes as miscalculated and desperate

The State of Qatar directed direct criticism at Iran against the backdrop of its targeting of Gulf countries, describing Tehran’s decision as based on “wrong and desperate calculations,” in conjunction with its urgent call to establish a new security system in the region that takes into account the concerns of all parties.

In an interview with Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath channels, Dr. Majid Al-Ansari, advisor to the Prime Minister and spokesman for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the attacks carried out by the Houthi group against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia cannot in any way be justified, stressing the need for any potential agreement with Tehran to include guarantees that address Gulf security concerns.

Al-Ansari stressed that the rapid escalation and current developments in the region necessitate the creation of a new security architecture capable of confronting the ongoing challenges and tensions.

Regarding the foreign military presence, the Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman denied using the American military base in Doha to carry out any strikes against Iran.

At the conclusion of his statements, Al-Ansari reaffirmed the continuation of joint Gulf coordination on a daily basis at various levels, keeping pace with the rapid security developments taking place in the region.
