French President Emmanuel Macron is preparing to conduct an official three-day Gulf tour, starting on the nineteenth of October and continuing until the twenty-first of October, including four countries: Kuwait, the Emirates, Bahrain, and Qatar.
The Elysee Palace announced that this visit comes at a time when Paris is continuing its diplomatic endeavors and its intensive contacts with the countries of the region. Especially in light of the continuing repercussions of the developments that the Middle East witnessed during the current year, which prompted the French side to strengthen its regional coordination.
According to French media, Macron’s discussions with the leaders of the four countries will focus on conducting political and security consultations, and discussing ways to strengthen bilateral relations and joint cooperation in various fields.
It is expected that the discussions will address issues of regional stability, energy security, economic cooperation, and developing partnership frameworks between France and the relevant Gulf countries.
It is noteworthy that last March, President Macron stressed the strength of the defense ties that unite France with a number of countries in the region, stressing at the time the provision of defense support to Kuwait, the Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, as part of French movements aimed at ensuring the security of navigation, securing energy supplies, and supporting regional stability.
