Apple systems alone...do they really protect your device?

A report published by the American “BGR” website confirmed that users of “MacBook” devices do not necessarily need to install external anti-virus software, given the effectiveness of the built-in protection systems provided by “Apple” within the “Mac OS” operating system.

The security system for Mac devices relies on multiple advanced technologies, most notably the “Gatekeeper” tool, which prevents untrusted applications from running, in addition to the “XProtect” tool dedicated to detecting and removing malware efficiently.

Despite these security measures, the report indicated that MacBook devices are not completely immune to electronic attacks, especially when downloading software from untrusted sites or using torrent files.

Experts explained that additional anti-virus programs may benefit users who constantly deal with files of unknown origin, but installing some security applications may cause technical conflicts with the system’s original protection tools.

In the same context, experts recommend the necessity of updating the operating system regularly, and relying on reliable sources to download applications, while avoiding suspicious links and files, stressing that the decision to use additional protection software remains linked to the nature of the device’s use and the extent of its exposure to risks.
