Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX, confirmed the ability of his company specializing in aviation and space to achieve a market value that exceeds the size of the entire global economy.
Musk said in a blog post on the social media platform “X”: “It may seem completely crazy, but I see a path in which the value of SpaceX exceeds the total current Earth’s economy,” noting that the difference between the value of the company and the global economy will be “enormous,” without clarifying the mechanism or plans that he intends to follow to achieve this goal.
Musk’s statements come at a time when the global gross product reaches slightly more than $118 trillion in 2025, according to World Bank data.
SpaceX is currently the most important asset in Musk’s wealth portfolio, especially after offering its shares for public subscription last June, in the largest IPO in the history of the financial markets, which raised about $86 billion. After a strong start, the company’s stock suffered a sharp decline during the summer, before witnessing a noticeable recovery in the recent period.
