Algerian star Riyad Mahrez (35 years old) sent a touching farewell message to the fans of the Saudi Al-Ahly club, following the curtain on his career with the team and his official transfer to the ranks of the Qatari Al-Shamal Club, after three seasons he spent in the Castle of Cups.
Through his official account on the “X” platform, Mahrez wrote: “My period with the club has ended, but I did not want to leave without expressing my respect and gratitude to all of you,” noting that his experience with Al-Ahly represented an exceptional station in his professional career and personal life. He expressed his great pride in wearing the club’s shirt and contributing to its winning championships, stressing that representing this entity was a great honor for him.
The player also extended his sincere thanks to the club’s management, the technical staff, his fellow players, and all Al-Ahly employees for their constant support throughout his career, concluding his message with his sincere wishes of good luck and success to all the club’s employees in the coming dates.
It is noteworthy that Mahrez terminated his contract with Al-Ahly one year before its completion date, recording a career full of achievements, most notably winning the elite AFC Champions League title twice, in addition to achieving the Saudi Super Cup, thus beginning a new football chapter in the Qatari League stadiums.
