Epstein scandal haunts Prince Andrew and the latter defies police investigations

Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, brother of Britain’s King Charles III, filed a lawsuit before the judiciary to challenge the legality of his arrest procedures by Thames Valley Police, which were based on documents related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

According to what was published by the British newspaper “The Telegraph”, Mountbatten-Windsor asked a judge to determine whether his arrest was legal, after he was arrested last February on suspicion of leaking government documents to Epstein during his tenure as Special Representative for International Trade between 2001 and 2011.

In the same context, Mountbatten-Windsor applied for a judicial review targeting the search orders according to which the police raided his home in the “Sandringham” estate and his former residence in the “Royal Lodge” in the city of Windsor, where he was subjected to lengthy investigations throughout the day after his detention.

For its part, Thames Valley Police explained that the investigations are focusing on allegations that he handed over official documents to Epstein while he was working as a trade envoy, while Mountbatten-Windsor denied committing any wrongdoing, expressing his deep regret for his previous friendship with Epstein.

It is noteworthy that Mountbatten-Windsor (the second son of the late Queen Elizabeth II) was forced to relinquish his official royal duties in 2019 due to his association with Epstein, before King Charles took the decision to strip him of his titles and honors last October as new details were revealed about the nature of their relationship.
