Sidon Municipal Police arrested two people red-handed in attempting to steal motorcycles in the vicinity of Rafik Hariri Sports City (Municipal Stadium), following a careful field monitoring and follow-up operation.
The operation took place under the direct supervision of the head of the Violations and Transgressions Committee in the municipality, Wael Qasab, in coordination with the commander of the Sidon Platoon in the Internal Security Forces, Major Nader Qasab, where the detainees were handed over, along with the seized items, to the security faction to take legal and judicial action against them.
In a related context, the Mayor of Sidon, Engineer Mustafa Hegazy, decided to issue a letter of citation against municipal police officers Salah Abu Dhahr and Muhammad Al-Jardali, in appreciation of their efforts in making the arrest a success.
The Sidon Municipality confirmed that its police will continue to conduct field patrols in various neighborhoods of the city and its public facilities, to maintain security and stability, within the framework of continuous cooperation and coordination with the competent security and military agencies.
