From dawn today until the early hours of the morning, the regions of southern Lebanon witnessed a large-scale Israeli military escalation, which included intense artillery shelling that targeted a number of towns and valleys, coinciding with the firing of flares into the airspace of the border villages.
The correspondent of the “Lebanon Debate” website reported that the artillery shelling intensely targeted the Doha Kafr Rumman area, and the outskirts of the towns of Mifdoun, Zawtar al-Sharqiya, and Kafr Benit. The bombing also targeted Wadi Al-Saluki and the outskirts of the towns of Al-Ghandouriya and Al-Qantara, and later extended to hit Wadi Hassan on the outskirts of the town of Majdal Zoun.
The bombing was accompanied by the Israeli army throwing flares over the towns of Majdal Zoun and Al-Mansouri and their environs, while artillery shells fell in the vicinity of the towns of Hadada and Haris in the Bint Jbeil district.
This escalation comes as an extension of the series of attacks that the south witnessed yesterday, Saturday, which included bombings and violent artillery shelling that targeted several areas. Bombings were recorded carried out by the Israeli army in the towns of Houla, Mays al-Jabal, al-Mansouri, al-Qantara, and Aitaroun, in addition to the bombing of Tal Talusah, Bani Hayyan, Wadi al-Hujar, and the outskirts of Baraashit, in addition to an Israeli drone dropping a sound bomb over Wadi al-Saluki from the direction of the town of Shaqra.
