On Tuesday evening, all eyes will turn to the White House, where the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Raji, is scheduled to hold discussions with the US Deputy National Security Advisor, Michael Needham, as part of a new episode of diplomatic contacts between Beirut and the US administration.
The National News Agency reported that the meeting will be held at nine o’clock in the evening Beirut time, without the sources revealing the details of the agenda or the nature of the files that will be discussed between the two sides.
Michael Needham holds his current position as US Deputy National Security Advisor, after previously managing the Office of Policy Planning at the State Department, where his role focused on formulating strategic directions for foreign policy and providing guidance to the relevant departments.
This meeting comes at a time when Beirut is intensifying its communication channels with Washington to discuss common bilateral issues, awaiting the outcome of the talks and the issuance of official details regarding their results.
