Lebanese MP Jamil Al-Sayyid called on the security forces to clearly present the details of the arrest of the accused of killing the citizen Muhammad Hamza to public opinion, calling for the disclosure of his identity, his picture, and a summary of the incident, in addition to determining whether he had accomplices, and investigating his involvement in previous similar incidents.
In a statement on the “X” platform, Al-Sayed indicated that if it is proven that the arrested person is a minor, he will only publish his initials without publishing his picture, in compliance with applicable laws.
This position comes as a follow-up to the case of the killing of Muhammad Hamza, who died after a rock was thrown at his car while he was passing towards the Salim Salam Tunnel in Beirut, near the pedestrian bridge in the Al-Kula area.
Al-Sayed had pointed out in a previous post that this incident was the fourth of its kind in the same region, criticizing the delay in arresting the perpetrators, and reiterating his demand for the death penalty to be imposed on the perpetrators of such crimes, noting that he had previously opposed the abolition of this punishment.
