Iranshahr (Iran) – An Iranian security personnel was killed today as a result of an armed attack carried out by unknown assailants in the city of Iranshahr, located in the Sistan and Baluchestan province, southeast of the country.
Mehr News Agency quoted the governorate police media center as saying that the attack occurred while the victim was performing his official duties, stressing that the security services had begun intensive search and investigation operations to identify and arrest the attackers, with more details to be announced later.
This incident comes in the context of a series of similar attacks targeting security forces in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, which has witnessed separate security incidents in recent years.
It is noteworthy that in August 2025, the same region witnessed an armed attack targeting two security patrols on the road linking the cities of Iranshahr and Khash, which then resulted in the killing of five police officers.
